The mission of the Oregon Funeral Directors Association (OFDA) shall be to promote high professional standards and unity, while encouraging excellence in funeral service; and to educate the membership and the public about our profession.
We encourage our members - funeral home owners, managers, staff, and professional allies (suppliers), to chart the future of funeral service by getting involved in OFDA. While our management staff (an executive director and an administrative assistant) conduct the day-to-day business in the Portland Association office, the backbone to OFDA is the volunteer. In addition to our eleven-member Board of Directors, OFDA has several committees that welcome participation, such as:
